Cruise - Dublin August

Just a few pictures of Dublin, firstly we have one of the many doorways of the Guinness buildings. Guinness is almost like a town within the city, in the sense that it takes up so much room: building after building.

The notice to the Kilmainham Gaol, fantastic place. My other photos here did not come out so well! However must be the best museum in Dublin? Maybe?
A moody photo of the customs house on the backs of the River Liffey. We left the cruise ship on the first evening and took some photos, however my battery died about 2 minutes after this was taken!!

What sort of museum is it? And I love the moodiness of that last photo...sort of reminds me of Mary Poppins. :)

Hi Jessica
Kilmainham Gaol is really just that - a jail that carries much of Dublins history within it. See this link - http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/Dublin/KilmainhamGaol/. There is a small museum with exhibits within the larger jail, and this displays quite a lot of information. No guide book though, which was disappointing!
The customs house was designed by James Gandon who designed other houses we have posted. However its a bit like St Pauls Cathedral in London, which must feature in Mary Poppins somewhere!
