When the rain had stopped we bumped into a male and female peacock at the side of the house, preening themselves. Quite a few people stopped and the male peacock moved closer to the female to protect her.
This was taken from the shed at the bottom of the garden where we sheltered from the rain.
A water pump at the back of the Hall.
These houses were carved out of the Rock at Kinver and were lived in for over 100 years, until the 1960s. They are cool in the summer and warm in the winter and changes to the houses were easy - chip away at the sandstone walls!
A fireplace within one of the houses
A mangel in the house
Above the white rock houses were more houses, on the left brick built houses and on the right you can just see the front of a cave home.

Holy cow, you two...as always, completely surreal. THAT WAS THE VIEW FROM THE SHED??? Sigh.
Just reminds me how desperately I want a home. $10-20,000 pounds? REALLY??? That's like $20-40k here!!! And we were all proud of ourselves for having saved up $7k with our little family of 4...
Anyway, absolutely gorgeous, of course, and...if I don't get a home soon, I'm considering finding a cliff somewhere and carving it out! :) Thanks for the idea!
Well for £10-20,000 we would like to have a shed at the bottom of a garden like that which had a house like that in it!! Sadly it will get us something really small, if we manage to save it all. We have the wedding to save for too!
